sheila + jason
It's been WAY too long since I have posted anything...so much for that grand goal of a blog a day. Pfffft!!
So I have about a gabazillion things I would like to share with you!
Let's start out in St Johns with the adorable, sassy, hilarious, tasty dinner making couple Sheila + Jason.
They are getting married in Sept and I am so honored that they chose me to photograph their ceremony. It is going to be a VERY small, intimate affair...just immediate family + me.
But hello...the next day is a BBQ + party till your knees get weak celebration. WHooooTT!
For their engagement session we tromped around the straight out of the 1970's SMALL town of St Johns. I am so in love with this place! If we hadn't gotten too hungry to think, I would have kept shooting 'til sun-up.
But wait? You are going to feed me a BBQ fillet wrapped in bacon, serve me wine and tell me stories on the deck? Okay...I break for anything wrapped in bacon. Which is SO counter intuitive to one who is so in love with animals. I hate to think of where my meat came from, but It's one of the few things that my body will digest (food allergies galore!) And well...if they weren't so darn tasty....
So we sat and munched, sipped and giggled for an hour or so and then headed down to the water to finish up our shoot under the St Johns Bridge. It truly is the most fantastically gorgeous bridge in Portland.
Thanks you two! (and the mews, gary and dan :) See you soon.

HOME!!
THANK you EVERYone...Synnie is home. Thank you Donna, thank you Zoe!!!!!!!
He is exhausted, tired and thirsty...his nose is a crusty and dry, and he has a gash below his ear. But he is HOME!! He isn't acting like himself but I'm sure it's just the stress of what he went through.
I slept on the floor of the livingroom last night with the front door open and the kibble by my pillow. I spent the wee hours of the morning just staring down our front hallway 'willing' him home. When he wasn't home by 6am, I was beginning to have doubts.
Then I got a call from my very dear friend, who offered to come right over and help me look. We walked up and down the street with a can of tuna, a plate of tuna, two bags of treats and a fork. We picked up a cute orange friend along the way, but no Syn Syn...
Donna asked if I had checked the back yard. Well I had called and called and called last night and did my best to search with a flashlight, but I hadn't been back yet this morning.
I live in a 3 story old Victorian and the middle level back deck is where the recycling + trash for the whole building is located. Donna pulled back one of the 8 giant trash bins and saw a fluff of grey!!! Then I heard him...tiny strained mewwww. I have never cried so hard in utter relief and happiness. I stuffed my face in his soft furr and hugged him hard and then hugged Donna as I sobbed harder.
So we are both exhausted but happy, home and together. He had two scary nights out on his own, I am hoping that was enough to take the 'excitement' out of the great outdoors.
I know I must have seemed like a crazy person. But my furry children are just that, my children. And they don't have Amber Alerts for cats yet.
THANK YOU for putting up with my one million multi-media posts!!
LOVE YOU PUMA! :)
HELP find my kittie PLEASE
This is such a long shot I know..but it's 1am and I do not know what else to do. I feel like I should be out searching, but I can't search anymore tonight. My kittie is missing. He would be in the neighborhood of NW Savier & 28th in Portland. He got out last night and is probably very 'wild' by now.
He is 13 years old and has NEVER been outside longer than a couple of hours. He is my Angel.. please if you could repost in anyway. I need him home NOW.
(please also see the post here titled "a hard days nap" he is the grey one with green eyes. His name is Synnie. Syn syn. Synnie winnie minnie. Little grey.)
please god bring him home...my heart is breaking.

cooper's gift
So way back when...I'm gonna say maybe 3 months ago I met this sweet man. We chatted, hung out, drank coffee, got caught in that FREAK-ish storm that sneezed all over Portland. In general became friends. Then I found out he had a cute mixed breed dog named Cooper and my mind started on overdrive.
See I have the most AMAZING vet. Dr. Chang of Vet to Pet {503.757.6124} ...Yes she actually comes to you! She and I have been working with the team at Lettuce to produce a sweet new website and the only thing I had left to photograph was Dr. Change examining a mixed breed pup. Hello!
I will post those images soon, but for now....
As a thank you to Micheal + Cooper we did a itsy bitsy teeny tiny mini session after we finished up with Dr. Chang.
I'll think you'll agree they are both handsome as can be.
Thank you both SO much!!!!!! Hugs...{the manly kind}
